The purpose of the present volume is to summarize the Five Books of Moses (divided into portions read from the scroll of Law in the synagogue every Sabbath - and, at the same time, select a vital lesson from each weekly "Sedrah" and epitomize its teachings as applied to the modern problems and conditions confronting us. An attempt has been made, moreover, to link the weekly Portion from the Prophets (Haft torah) with the Torah-reading.
