Use in the Home and in Religious Schools: Eleventh Edition of The Religion of Israel by Rabbi Greenstone

Though many text-books and catechism for instruction in the Jewish religion have been written in the English language, very few of these will satisfy the demands of schools conducted on conservative principles. The Hebrew Sunday-School Society of Philadelphia, which provides for the religious instruction of thousands of pupils, most of whom are children of observant parents, felt the urgent need of a text-book that would treat of all the laws and customs, as well as the principles of ethics and religion as developed during the many centuries of our existence. I have, therefore, in compliance with the request of the Board of Manager?s of the above Society, prepared this book, which I hope will be helpful to many teacher and pupils.
