A Jewish Interpretation The first edition of this book was issued as an experiment. Its purpose was to discover whether men and women would be interested in a Jewish interpretation of marriage and family life and also whether a little book combining the highest in Jewish tradition with the findings of modern social science would prove helpful to the younger and the older generation. Three things have convinced me that the first edition met a growing need in American Jewish Life and that a revised edition would be welcomed. In this edition a number of chapters on subjects seldom discussed especially the subjects of "The Unmarried", "chastity", "Other Relative", "War, Marriage, and the Family", and "Prediction Success or Failure."
